History of Two Old Goats
Karen Pharr, the creator of Two Old Goats, is a professional quilter and fabric artist. Long hours of tedious hand work left her hands dry, chapped and tired. She tried using various lotions, but found that most had many chemicals and perfumes that she preferred to avoid. Her favorites had essential oils, which she liked, but found that the carrier oils used left stains on her fabric. She decided to create her own lotion.
Over a 7 year period, Karen determined that a vegetable glycerine base with goat milk provided the best beginning for her desired product. to this base she added 6 pure, natural, therapeutic grade essential oils. (Lavender, chamomile, eucalyptus, rosemary, peppermint, and birch bark. This lotion penetrated quickly, did not stain her fabrics and left her hands feeling smooth and refreshed. Two Old Goats Essential Oil Lotion was born.
The lotion quickly became a staple for Quilters hands, however their family members soon discovered the qualities of the lotion and demand grew quickly.
After a couple of years, Karen found that the demand for the lotion was interfering with her passion, creating art with fabric, thread and paint. After much deliberation, she sold the lotion company to Richard and Karen Snyder. They have worked to expand the availability of this nearly magical lotion to the entire country.
